The same rules apply to persons with impaired mobility and mentally handicapped persons with a valid ID card (guide card) issued by the user service at Disabled People’s Organisations Denmark (DPOD).
Guide dogs and service dogs may be taken on board free of charge. This also applies to dogs that are being trained and which are wearing a yellow vest marked with a butterfly and ‘Dansk Blindesamfund’ (Danish Association of the Blind).
Flextur (dial-a-ride trips)
We are happy to take mobility aids such as rollators and manual and electric wheelchairs. We can carry max. two manual wheelchairs or two mobility aids per trip. However, it is only possible to carry one electric wheelchair per booking. For safety reasons, we are unable to carry petrol-engined mobility scooters.
*If you bring a rollator which cannot be folded, book a trip with a manual wheelchair instead.
It must be possible to secure all mobility aids during transport. This means, for example, that your electric wheelchair/scooter must be fitted with eyelets for securing the straps.
If you bring more than one mobility aid, a fee corresponding to what you are paying will be charged.
It is the driver’s task to operate the lift on the van. If you bring an electric wheelchair or an electric mobility scooter, you need to manoeuvre it in and out of and to and from the vehicle yourself. If you are unable to do so, you must be accompanied by someone who can help. In cases where the mobility aid can easily be operated from behind using a push handle, the driver will be able to help you in and out of as well as to and from the vehicle. The driver is responsible for ensuring that electric wheelchairs, electric mobility scooters, wheelchairs and wheelchair users are securely fastened.
Wheelchairs
Your wheelchair can measure max. 80 cm (width) x 140 cm (length), and the total wheelchair weight including the user must not exceed 300 kg. It must also be possible to secure the wheelchair during transport using the straps in the lift van. If the wheelchair cannot be secured using the straps in the van, Midttrafik is unable to offer the transport.
