Guide card and ID card from the Danish Association of the Blind

The blind and visually impaired with a valid ID card from the Danish Association of the Blind (Dansk Blindesamfund) and their guide can each travel on a child’s ticket (single trip ticket, excess fare, one-day ticket, airport buses and 24, 48 and 72-hour tickets). The discount is not available when purchasing a transit ticket.

The same rules apply to persons with impaired mobility and mentally handicapped persons with a valid ID card (guide card) issued by the user service at Disabled People’s Organisations Denmark (DPOD).

Guide dogs and service dogs may be taken on board free of charge. This also applies to dogs that are being trained and which are wearing a yellow vest marked with a butterfly and ‘Dansk Blindesamfund’ (Danish Association of the Blind).

Wheelchairs and other mobility aids

Wheelchairs and other mobility aids (referred to as wheelchairs in the following) may be carried free of charge on city buses, X Buses and Letbanen providing they do not exceed the maximum permitted dimensions and that there is sufficient space available. The driver’s decision on whether there is adequate space is final.

City buses and routes which are served by buses with low boarding

On the city buses or on routes which are served by buses with low boarding, wheelchair users must be self-reliant, for example by being accompanied by a helper.

Wheelchair size: Length: max. 120 cm, width: max. 70 cm, weight: max. 300 kg (incl. wheelchair user).

The wheelchair must be positioned on the bus so that the user is sitting with their back facing the direction of travel. The wheelchair brakes must be locked, and the statutory seat belt must be worn.

There is usually space for two prams or one wheelchair on a bus.

The wheelchair must be secured.
